Key Responsibilities:

• Designsand oversees the data governance framework consisting of the following elements

o Data governance roadmap

o Organizational structureincluding data governance committee

o Interaction model withstakeholders including data owners, data management infrastructure and advanceddata analytics

o Policy and proceduresincluding standards and practices to manage definition, quality, consistency,usability, security and availability of information across the enterprise,covering end-to-end data life cycle

o Scorecards & metrics

• Definekey data definitions, requirements and priorities (excluding investment,finance and HR where understanding and collaboration of existing work isneeded)
• Leadthe development of the MetLife China Data Governance function,defining and implementing data ownership and stewardship roles andresponsibilities, as well as the processes to operationalise data governance
• Manageoperational data governance activities related to the monitoring of datagovernance compliance, data quality and remediation of associated issues,providing guidance on prioritisation of remediation through theappropriate review forums
• Manageroadmap based transition from manual data environment (online / offlineprocesses) to target state automation of data life cycle
• Developand manage relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation toensure on-going commitment to the Data Governance initiative
• Maintainawareness of latest strategic and technological developments within theorganisation and outside, as well as understanding the varying needs for dataarising from all business activities
• Developand own business data dictionary and lineage critical data elements, includingmaintenance of changes and procedure documents
• Establishand lead the Data Governance Committee and drive timely and effectiveimplementation of actions derived from the Data Governance Committee
• Monitoradherence to Data Governance policy and procedures, providing the linkage withother relevant steering groups and meetings
• Facilitateand drive knowledge sharing initiatives and provide coaching and training tothe relevant stakeholders.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

Business Knowledge/Technical Skills:

• Degree educated witha minimum of 10-15 years of direct experience
• Strong DataGovernance skills; direct experience of developing Data Governanceframeworks and/or performing a Data Governance Management role
• Strong relationshipmanagement approach with good interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Highly skilled incollating, designing and presenting top quality management information
• Excellent track record ofdelivering on strategic data initiatives
• Understanding of Data relatedregulations in China with focus to customer and personal information.
