Job Responsibilities:

Routine Support

  • Provide day to day infrastructure support to users in China Manufacturing Plant, Beijing sales office and Shanghai technology center.
  • Diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents reported by users. Assist users with any logged IT related incident when called upon.
  • Build, install and upgrade PCs, Servers, IP Telephones, network switches, wireless networks and peripheral devices (such as printers, scanners, mobile/smart phones) in accordance with Chevron standards
  • Purchases PCs and servers and deploys GIL upgrades. Purchases networking equipment and performs upgrade of local area network. Maintains and upgrades telecommunication equipment.
  • Perform information technology (IT) system administration tasks, monitor and maintain IT system performance for PCs, Servers, Printers and network equipment in the business network including the computer room hosting the equipment.
  • Troubleshoot PC, server, printer and network incidents and provide analysis and follow-up support. Escalate complex issues to appropriate support teams for resolutions.
  • Record, update and document requests using Remedy, Chevron’s IT service desk system.
  • Ensures high availability for network, telephone, systems and data to support plant manufacturing operations.

Information Protection
  • Ensures network, hardware and software in the business network are compliant with Chevron information protection policies.
  • Ensure all documentation, evergreen procedures and compliance tasks for the IT systems are completed and up to date.
  • Perform IT hardware and software license inventory management.

Others
  • Provide backup support for infrastructure and applications in the Process Control Network on behalf of the PCN Analyst when he is not available.
  • Vendor Management - Liaison with Vendors for the installation, maintenance & monitoring of networking and computer room infrastructure.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required in MIS or Computer Science.
  • 5+ years of IT infrastructure hardware and software maintenance, configuration, testing, and procedure documentation experience including 2+ years of desktop support
  • 3+ years of working experience in a multinational manufacturing company
  • Experience with TCP/IP networks, IP Addressing, and Ethernet technology in Cisco-based switched and routed environments.
  • Experience managing Microsoft Windows server and PC operating systems in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience using, deploying and supporting Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Knowledge of ITIL and experience in using Remedy, IT service desk system
  • Good oral and written communication in English and Chinese
