Job Description

The Siemens Government Technologies, Inc (SGT) Internship Program enables college students to explore stimulating career possibilities in the government contracting environment. As an intern of Siemens Government Technologies, you will be given individual and group assignments that are designed to provide you with experience in a corporate environment and develop your business acumen.

Siemens Government Technologies is looking for an Information Technology Intern to provide support for a multitude of activities within the IT organization.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist existing team with implementing system requirements to support business requirements

  • Define and document system requirements through interaction with different business functions

  • Analyze and debug system issues to determine root cause

  • Query and analyze data to identify patterns and relationships

  • Ensure quality by proper documentation and testing of system solutions

  • Facilitate business process and technology improvements with technology solutions

  • Interact with business stakeholders to deliver necessary system solution

  • Analyze/troubleshoot security, performance, and connectivity issues

  • Drive process improvements in IT

  • Provide project support to IT initiatives

  • Preform related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position

Minimum Requirements

  • Interest in how technology can help solve business problems
  • Analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft productivity software suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to organize tasks and interact with development team
  • Effective organization and time management skills, including prioritization and time management
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic environment and manage competing priorities
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of web development, programming (C, C++, Java, Perl, Python, R, SQL) and scripting

Security Requirements:

  • Candidate must be a United States Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
