IT Managers (two posts) in the Information Technology Services (ITS) (Ref.: 498499) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in IT related discipline with at least 5 years’ relevant experience, a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, and good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills. They should have solid knowledge and relevant experience in some of the following areas: Linux/Unix/Windows OS, TCP/IP networking and application server/infrastructure, and operating, monitoring and managing servers, load balancers, SAN and other storages; LAN/WAN technologies, IP network routing and firewalls, TCP/IP networking, Wi-Fi networks, SDN, network monitoring tools (e.g. Nagios, MRTG, etc.) and network management tools; infrastructure design, implementation and operation in technological areas of Cloud, Office 365, Exchange, SharePoint and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure; data centre design and capacity planning, facilities management and operation as well as backup management; and IoT and related technologies and their applications. They should also have knowledge and experience preferably in automation of daily system management tasks through scripting or package; software-defined data centre functions, such as network, storage and compute functions; campus network or systems of universities or large corporations; maintaining security of network, systems and applications; design, development and support of application infrastructure; project management (e.g. PRINCE 2); IT Service Management (e.g. ITIL v3) and DevOps, Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and ITIL CMDB processes.

The appointees will work and/or lead in specific functional areas in collaboration with and under the supervision of Senior IT Manager to accomplish the mission of delivering innovative and shared IT service across the University campus in achieving value and efficiency gains.
