Job Description
Siemens Government Technologies’ (SGT) IT organization is looking for a dynamic IT Operations Manager with a strong business acumen reporting directly to the Director of IT. The IT Operations Manager position is a hands-on role which involves managing a multidisciplinary IT team and working collaboratively with internal and external parts of the organization to include Applications, Cyber Security and Cloud Managed Services. As a part of the Technology team the IT Operations Manager is responsible for maintenance of the internal infrastructure which includes Service Desk, Cloud and On-Premises systems, and the Networking. Additionally, the IT Operations Manager will work with the Director of IT and internal business heads on SGT’s cloud managed services offerings, capabilities, and new initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Manage Operations team of the IT Department to include the Service Desk, Cloud and On-Premises Systems, and Networking teams. • Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations, and departmental and cloud managed service’s OLAs and SLAs. • Closely work with the head of DS cloud managed services to ensure success of their cloud offering while maintaining SGT’s security and compliance posture. • Oversee and manage all IT operations projects, including project plans, managing project budgets, and providing status of projects to the Director of IT, stakeholders, and senior management. • Ensure the efficient utilization of IT resources – including personnel, hardware, and software. • Develop and implement functional policies and procedures for IT operations to include COOP and disaster recovery plans for ISO certification. • Work with the Cyber Security team to ensure security is baked into the technology stack. • Manage the development, testing, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrades, and support of IT desk side systems, including workstations, software, mobile devices, networks, and associated hardware. • Manage the testing and patch management of all desk side software applications for security vulnerabilities. • Work with the Director of IT on developing and maintaining the IT budget, business case justifications, cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives, and cost savings opportunities. • Recommend and/or approve purchase of equipment and supplies in order to meet operational requirements of the business. • Analyze existing operations and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of end-user IT systems. • Manage the response to all IT outages for mission critical and mission important systems, including proper escalation and timely notification of management of the issues. • Conduct research and remain current with the latest technologies and solutions in support of procurement efforts. • Maintain asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment using automated tools such as IBM BigFix. • Manage staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions for the IT operations team. • Manage the process of employee hire, LOA, and terminations to ensure policy compliance. • Work with the Director of IT to develop and implement technology roadmap. Education and/or Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline; Master’s preferred. • Ten + (10) years of IT experience. • Significant experience in a management and supervisory role in the Government contractor space. • Professional level IT experience including project management and evaluation, acquisition of software applications, IT software/hardware/services renewals, and IT spend. • Experience in leading cross-functional teams influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders effectively across the organization and within complex contexts. • Solid technical infrastructure experience including cloud deployment such as AWS and Azure, and zero-trust networks such as Zscaler. • Robust knowledge of Microsoft 365 and its workloads. GCC High experience preferred. • Considerable knowledge of LAN/WAN, hardware and software products and project management techniques and processes. • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team to continuously improve performance and to achieve desired results. • Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skills, and verbal and written communication skills.
