The opportunity:
The IT Operator role is a pivotal role in providing operation and production control support to business-critical systems. In this role you’ll perform checks, maintain system availability, monitor automated reporting, administer/run AS400 operational tasks and deploy new software. You’ll support to level 2 infrastructure and work with external vendors where needed.
You’ll be part of a trans-Tasman team, reporting into the Infrastructure Operations Manager in Melbourne.

About the role:
Infrastructure Operations
Provide assistance with user issues and concerns.
Provide guidance and assist Service desk team with Level 1 & 2 tickets where necessary
Follow up with customers to ensure issue has been resolved.
Provide troubleshooting and triage for Infrastructure related incidents and issues.
Promote the software releases to Production environment.
Run and administer AS400 and MS Windows operational tasks including capacity and availability monitoring and creating/monitoring scheduled jobs.
Coordinate tasks with Application Services and Vendors in resolving technical and application problems.
Manage changes in PROD environment.
Provide On Call support for batch run jobs PROD application deployments.
About you:
Experience working with mid-range operating like AS400/Linux (UNIX) and MS Windows operating systems is advantageous.
Available to work during outside of normal office hours when necessary
Proven ability to develop and adhere to systems and processes.
Advanced trouble-shooting experience.
Ideally, you’ll have a Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Diploma in IT System Administrator with 5 years’ experience.
Ability to plan and deliver upon projects.
Strong sense of system management and compliance mindset.
