Group Procurement

Group Procurement is responsible for the management and cost control of RWS’ global indirect spend equating to approximately £86m annually across a variety of categories such as I.T., Real Estate, HR, Marketing, Legal & Professional Services and Telecommunications.  This spend is serviced via approximately 3,500 suppliers whilst the commercial real estate portfolio consists of approximately 70 offices globally.

 

Job Purpose

As IT Procurement Manager you will be working within a small team on a range of exciting and new IT procurement projects, helping with this organisation's transformation. You will be responsible for owning and delivering the strategic plan for IT procurement, sourcing initiatives and driving value for money and efficiencies throughout the procurement cycle. You will utilise your knowledge of the marketplace to deliver alternative options, evaluate existing suppliers and identify short and long-term solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Collaboration with colleagues to provide relevant and timely information including reporting, to ensure compliance.
• To deliver value for money to deliver positive outcomes for our stakeholders.
• Leading on new IT sourcing initiatives whilst becoming a value enabler and trusted advisor to colleagues.
• Supporting the business in the delivery and execution of strategic projects, providing market led intelligence for the development of commercially astute business cases.
• Transition and implementation of all contracts to ensure continuity of supply and risk/cost mitigation is key, as is contributing to the development and execution of Procurement Category Strategies

• Liaising and negotiating with existing and new vendors/suppliers whilst building and maintaining strategic partnerships with suppliers and vendors.
• Managing our ecosystem of suppliers and providing reporting on vendor performance.
• Reducing costs, improving value.
• Managing commercial terms with suppliers including approval of contracts.
• Developing a continuous improvement policy across existing and new business activities.
• Setting, measuring, and reporting on KPI's.
• Creating a supplier knowledge base.
• Maintaining data and records in the procurement systems.
• Helping to develop new systems and working practices.
• Helping to achieve SLAs.
• Forecasting and reporting on product trends and pricing analysis.
• Attending supplier meetings, events and customer meetings where required.
• Managing and reporting on vendor incentives and opportunities.

 

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrable IT Procurement experience gained within a large or medium size international business.
• Full or partially CIPS qualified.
• Experience of conducting complex sourcing projects deploying multiple sourcing strategies/market engagement techniques
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders and suppliers
• Good commercial awareness
• A strong and demonstrable track record of delivering savings and value for money
