Job Title: IT Site Support Analyst

Office location: Joo Koon (Walking distance to MRT station)
Reporting to: IT Manager 
Work hours: Mon-Fri, 8am to 515pm

How will you make an impact?

To support the global demand better, Thermo Fisher's Bio Production division (BPD) has set up a new hub site in Joo Koon for APAC network in Singapore. This will enhance customer responsiveness in the region.

You will be based in Joo Koon, Singapore to support the highly customized Manufacturing factory with 7 production lines.


What will you do?

  • Deliver IT services to internal customers in Singapore, not limited to SEA & Taiwan Countries.
  • Provide IT support to Manufacturing, Clean Room, Lab, Office and Warehouse.
  • Protect company’s data, tools and information systems.
  • Understand and enforce company’s infrastructure architecture standards and policies to maximize efficiency and support platform compatibility.
  • Monitor data center, applications, equipment for uninterrupted IT services.
  • Collaborate with Global Infrastructure, application and security to implement company standards as needed.
  • Maintain system documentation, IT Inventory and change control logs.
  • Ensuring new hires are provided with the required hardware on time, before they are on-boarded.
  • Diagnosing PC / Hardware faults and supply solutions as required.
  • Assisting in the updates of software patching as required e.g. Anti-virus and Windows Server Updates.
  • Work with vendors and deliver scope of work or agreement.
  • Keeping system documentation up to date including hardware/equipment assignment listing and mobile listing.
  • Assisting technical staff in the event of Major incident or critical system failures.
  • Assisting employees with software and hardware issues e.g. Microsoft Office, printers, mobile and other business applications.
  • Contribute to and follow global IT standards, IT security and procedures.
  • Work with regional and local IT Teams on global and local IT projects.
  • Assist to provide Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for following year's IT Expenses, i.e. identify employees who should get replacement laptops after 4 years usage, and 5 years usage for desktops)
  • Purchasing computers and peripherals from IT Suppliers.
  • Willing to do occasional travel to other branches in Singapore as required.
  • Willing to be on call during non-office hours to support 24x7 production line. 20% travel frequency is required.
  • Other duties as assigned.



How will you get here?


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent.

Experience

  • 5+ years' experience in IT Site Support/Service Desk Level 3/ Desktop Support working in a fast-paced, MNC environment.
  • Relevant technical certificates a plus, i.e. Server, Network, Application, IT Project Management, etc.
  • Hands-on Experience in Server Room Support and Client Desktop Support.
  • Working experiences in Manufacturing environment and on-call duty.

  • Ability to quickly learn the culture of an organization, business objectives and IT strategy.
  • Broad knowledge of hardware, software, desktop support and IT security.
  • Willingness to work outside of business hours where necessary.
  • Good analytical skills and understanding of project management life cycle.
  • Ability to solve issue according to business priorities or urgency.
  • Able to work independently while thriving in a team.
  • Some Knowledge on network and Servers are required; we have internal Network & Server Team. Examples:
- Mount Cisco Router/Switch/ Dell Server.
- Setup UPS alerts and Server Contingency planning.
- Basic Server OS installation and RAID setup.
  • Microsoft SCCM knowledge for software distribution and computer formatting skills.
  • Knowledge in IT ticketing System like Remedy and ServiceNow is needed as we will be working according to ticket SLA.
  • Knowledge in Manufacturing application, E1 or SAP is needed as Site Support will be 1st level support before escalate to Application Team
