IT Services are part of Group Technology, its aim is to enable the organisation to achieve its strategic direction whilst driving shareholder value.  IT Services establishes common standards and IT governance across the business. It further develops and manages core applications enabling smooth operational running of the organisation across all functions. We drive/deliver current and plan future roadmaps aligning to the overall strategic direction of the business.  We support over 7500 end users across the globe, manage the information security operation and safeguard all our assets. Our core functions include Technical Architecture, Network & Voice, IT Security, Service Delivery, Solutions Delivery and Asset Management.  IT Services has a global presence across all regions with 200+ staff.

Job Purpose

At  RWS, we’re more than just a global technology business. Our core involves 'Localisation' and Content Management, which require intricate yet supremely efficient infrastructures for the processing, storage, global distribution, and transformation of a variety of file types on a large scale. With a workforce spanning several countries, a dependable and flexible global infrastructure is critical to facilitate our ongoing business transformation programme.

The Infrastructure Solutions Architect's role is vital in guaranteeing that the solutions we design and develop are scalable, adaptable, and evolve in tandem with business needs. This position is in charge of outlining solution architecture descriptions and subsequently overseeing and governing their implementation. In addition, they must ensure that solutions align with the RWS's Architecture, efficiently utilising technology to meet our current and foreseeable requirements.

This role presents a technical challenge within a truly global corporate environment, amidst an exciting and rapidly evolving business.

Key Responsibilities

• Translating requirements into a solution vision, identifying solution options, and developing high-level business or IT system specifications.
• Preparing high-level designs, ensuring adherence to requirements, design principles, and overall solution vision.
• Defining the architecture of Information Systems and Infrastructure to meet specified business requirements.
• Developing technology specifications and leveraging existing technologies to ensure new solutions are optimised for business use.
• Applying architectural and engineering concepts to design solutions that meet business requirements, considering aspects like scalability, maintainability, security, reliability, flexibility, availability, and manageability.
• Defining complex technical requirements and ensuring process, application, data, and technology architectures are aligned.

Skills & Experience

• Degree education (preferred).
• Experience in designing, integrating, and managing complex solutions (multi-platform, multi-technology, 3rd parties).
• Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• In-depth and current knowledge of a wide range of Information Technologies, with experience in their integration and configuration.
• Ability to manage a large and varied workload, prioritize, and multitask.
• Experience in performing complex analysis, consulting, and providing technical recommendations.
• Proven experience in planning, architecture, high-level design, and implementation of Services, Applications, Integration or Data as part of solution architecture.
• Practical experience in planning, designing, and implementing applications and data in a complex distributed environment.

Desirable Skills

• Development methodologies and techniques: TOGAF or SAFE, Agile Development, Archimate
• Common architecture patterns: Public Cloud Azure and AWS, Cloud Architectures (Private, Hybrid), Dynamics 365, Data Warehousing
