Job Purpose
The BI and DWH System Architect and Data Architect role will typically work within a team to fulfil IT Architecture tasks under supervision of a more senior member of the function. This role is responsible for enhancing and accelerating projects while ensuring the logical and physical architecture for a project aligns with the standards and reference architectures defined by enterprise architecture. The role will assist more senior team members with delivering the architectural design of technology solutions, and utilize knowledge of defined reference architectures, technology trends, and implementation experience in order to translate a business need into a solution blueprint that represents an end-to-end technical solution.
The role will also ensure that common architecture decisions support both business and IT strategy within a domain focus, and that architectures delivered for that domain are compliant with relevant AZ architecture standards, blueprints and roadmaps. The role will contribute to the development of the architecture practice and support solution services, including app rationalization, portfolio review, and architecture framework development.

- With the assistance of other architects and IT peers, the Associate Solution Architect will work to ensure the end to end solution designs for business model enhancement are aligned to the strategic goals of the business and AZ IT.
- Assist in converting high-level user requirements into a deliverable design specification, define component architectures, and assist in task estimates and project scope.
- Identifies and contributes to the selection of tools, products, and design patterns to facilitate the implementation of the architecture.
- Provides technical & IT expertise support to project teams and supports AZ architectural reviews throughout project lifecycle
- Ensures compliance with existing EA guidelines and standards (e.g. AZ Architecture Engagement Process (ISPMM) and EA Software Standards)
- Assists project and service teams in the development, implementation and maintenance of standard architectural components
- Works with third party suppliers as required and contributes to the creation of local or functional design documents
- Works with third party suppliers to verify technical development and delivery are in adherence with the Architecture Roadmap, Blueprint and Information Services Strategy
- Documents all architecture analysis and design work
- Develops strong knowledge and expertise in at least one architecture domain
- Participate in Architecture Assessments & Reviews either as Reviewing Architect or as a Subject Matter Expert in the review team.
- Documenting and sharing knowledge and best practices with peer Architects and developing/maturing services aligned to architecture.
- Assist the development of architecture standards, technology domain strategies, roadmaps and blueprints for core focus areas.
- Understand implications of IT architecture requirements to ‘As-Is’ architectures and define/update ‘To-Be’ architectures applying AZ architecture guiding principles.
- Support solution development efforts originating from portfolios, participate in IT initiatives and provide active guidance and value for better planning and decision making.
- Maintain a view of the current and future state (1-5 years) architecture within a defined architecture focus area.
- Actively participate in Enterprise domain teams and working groups applicable to domain accountability.
Education, Qualifications and Experiences
- Experience in the areas of Business Intelligence, Reporting, Data Analysis, Data Management, or Technology.
- Understanding of the structure, provenance and meaning of the source data crucial to business domains.
- Strong networking skills with good internal/external links
- Strong communication, facilitation and relationship building skills
- Ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language
Preferred Skills and Capabilities
- General knowledge of BI・Analytics, BI, Analytics or RWE in healthcare systems.
- Computational science skills, mathematical expertise, relevant domain expertise and business engagement skills.
- Use of Data Science Modeling Tools, and/or Visualization Tools.
