Responsibilities:

Ensures optimal performance of all Windows/Intel based servers by proactively conducting ongoing performance monitoring and by tuning/adjusting as necessary.

Ensure service performance meets or exceeds business expectations and is delivered in accordance with SLA’s.

Provides effective Level II help desk support on a 24/7 basis by researching/analyzing issues/requests to determine server/application related implications.

Creates Knowledge Base Articles of operational tasked to streamline support and empower first level support to resolve issues on a first call basis.

Effectively maintains all Windows/Intel based servers by performing maintenance patching and application upgrades (including operating system and various applications) as needed.

Ensures server security integrity by reviewing and implementing server policies within the system.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Windows Server Administration to include Active Directory, Exchange, SQL and IIS technologies.

• Knowledge of Windows Powershell and/or VB scripting to automate common tasks.

• Knowledge of VMWare vSphere for server and desktop virtualization.

• Knowledge of Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop a plus.

• Knowledge of Server Hardware including RAID, PCB’S and PCI configurations.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

• Possesses generalized knowledge of storage arrays

• Knowledge of basic networking protocols including TCP/IP and UDP

• Demonstrated Windows performance tuning and troubleshooting skills.

• Knowledge of DNS and DHCP an added plus.

• Knowledge of Change Management (ITIL environment)

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

• Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability.

• Demonstrated ability to work in teams with a collaborative interpersonal style.

• Good verbal and written communications skills with the ability to effectively document procedures.
