The selected candidate will be involved hands-on in the technical design, configuration, testing and rollout of the manufacturing systems.

Participate / Be involved hands-on in requirement gathering, technical design, configuration, integration, test plan creation, unit and integration testing, and rollout of the manufacturing execution systems.

Assist Director-Information Systems with the creation and maintenance of project plans related to MES systems.

Maintain issue log and address the issues in a timely way. Provide periodic updates to Director -IS and the stakeholders. Sustaining role as the primary technical support and resident technical expert of the manufacturing execution systems, the person will be responsible for day-to-day support and continuous improvement of the systems.

Evaluating technical designs, developing alternatives, and recommending appropriate solutions
Collaborating with others throughout IT, including system analysts, to ensure timely and successful issue resolution
Preparing effort estimates of technical project components
Designing, coding, integrating, and implementing solutions

Resolve day-to-day issues involving manufacturing execution systems and their interfaces with other internal information systems and interfaces connecting to vendor systems.

Identify improvement opportunities, recommend solutions and work with business to implement them.

Stay abreast of the latest features and functionalities available in MES and keep the business users educated. Exchange ideas and knowledge with the other technical teams in the IT team.

Ensure timely upgrade of the systems to keep them on supported software and OS.

Keep all relevant documents (technical design document, test plans) up-to-date.

Follow IT Change Management process for implementation of changes in the production environment. Maintain necessary documentation to show compliance to the process.
Associated system interfaces are designed, coded, and tested successfully
Test plans (full life cycle, including integration) and training plans are designed and executed successfully

Should be able to lead a technical developer locally in Taiwan or offshore location.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Graduated in BS/MS Computer science or related discipline.
10+ years of overall experience in Information technology primarily working in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) with MSSQL and SQL skills
Discuss MES system specification with the vendor. MES database management & report customization.
MES domain knowledge (understand production work-flow of testing)
MSSQL database management skill & familiar with SQL server management studio.
SQL, specifically for MSSQL
Preferably the candidate should have iMES software package experience & familiar with database structure
Develop & Maintain PDMS.
Basic Linux server management skill
Ruby & Ruby on Rail framework (Must have 5+ years’ experience)

Preferably skills around Docker and Vim
Develop Excel reporting, labeling & small helper/automation program using VBA.
