IT Systems Analyst, Hong Kong Office
The opportunity
Your primary focus will be to provide excellent technical support and customer service to OTPP employees, while working independently to analyse and tackle problems and actively anticipate potential issues.
As a member of the enterprise services delivery team, you will support Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP) technology tools and platforms to ensure availability of IT services for our Hong Kong office which includes both Investment Division and Corporate staff.
Who you'll work with
We are Canada’s largest single-profession pension plan, founded in 1990 to actively invest the plan’s assets and administer pension services on behalf of school teachers in the province of Ontario.
In 2013, Ontario Teachers’ launched its Hong Kong office, to expand our global investment presence and to pursue partnerships and opportunities across the Asia Pacific region. Our offices are conveniently located in central amongst other financial institutes in Hong Kong.
In this role you will receive direction and support from the full time IT Systems Analyst within our HK Office. You will also have a reporting line to the Team Lead and Senior Manager, Teachers’ Support & Services (based in London, UK and Toronto, CA respectively). On a day to day basis, you will have interactions with the approximately 30 staff working in the Hong Kong office, other colleagues in the Enterprise Service Delivery Group, as well as any external guests, visitors, vendors, consultants who require IT support.
What you'll do
- Act as the main point of contact for support calls and emails
- Keep Managers informed of any customer service issues that arise
- Assist with implementing technology-based business solutions
- Assist in providing end-user support for OTPP’s technology systems using the available technologies (off the shelf/in-house systems)
- Handle the set-up of Video Conferences for Hong Kong office staff and respond to any issues
- Ensure all new staff receive the appropriate IT onboarding and technology required to perform their role
- Act as a project participant in many technology initiatives delivering services to investment customers
- Identify and propose solutions to issues that could affect customer satisfaction
- Be available to respond to the IT needs of any visitors to the office and HK travellers abroad
- Be a point of contact for local technology and communication vendors, maintaining existing, identifying and then building new relationships as needed.
- Responsible for procurement of any local IT hardware i.e. New laptops, mobile phones
What you'll need
- Business, Computer Science or equivalent degree.
- 5+ years of experience in IT service desk / technical support role, preferably in multinational financial firm.
- Strong knowledge of core technology platforms (e.g. Windows OS, Outlook, MS Office incl. MS Access, SCCM, TCP/IP networking).
- Ability to support end users using different technologies.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory.
- Knowledge of Investments Management Industry.
- Strong written and verbal English language communication skills.
- Fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin would be an asset.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Display strong work ethics and good judgment with a solid attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise work assignments and meet deadlines.
- Bring a can-do attitude with a forward-looking motivation.
- Resourcefulness, creativity, with the motivation and curiosity to learn new systems.
