To find out more about us check: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baa_aiJ4L7E As an IT & Telecoms Category Manager, North America, you will be responsible for managing designated Categories of Spend within the North American Region, ensuring an uninterrupted and timely supply at the optimum cost and quality that satisfies stakeholder requirements and company goals. On occasion, you will lead Global initiatives and work with peers in other regions in sharing best practices, identify cross regional and global opportunities. This includes supplier sourcing, negotiations, contracting and supplier performance management. Designated categories include IT managed services, Fixed and Mobile telecoms, Hardware including desktop environment and supporting infrastructure such as servers and data center, software including cloud, on premise delineating with different acquisition models. The indirect IT & Telecoms and services commodities will include, but not limited to, PC’s, Servers, Mainframe, Infrastructure including Data Centers, Enterprise Software, Telecommunications, Managed Services including onsite resources and Consulting Services. You will help support IT stakeholders across Eaton Infrastructure. 2 data centers 5900 hardware servers 750 sites on AT&T’s global network 70,000 PC’s and email accounts 45,000 help desks requests per month Applications 45,000 manufacturing users 21,000 engineers on Enovia PLM 25,000 employees using SharePoint 125,000 external ebusiness consumers 250,000 BI reports per month You will be responsible for the definition and deployment in conjunction with key stakeholders across all business group of the Sourcing strategy for the designated categories across all countries in North America including Mexico but excluding Brazil. You will be responsible for the regional selection and relationship building with key suppliers, for an effective program management of designated categories within the region and for the year over year reduction in overall total cost of ownership of the same. You will be positioned within IPO Global IT & Telecoms organisation and report to the Global IT & Telecoms Category Manager. You will provide regional and sector leadership, management and oversight for assigned categories on a region wide and sector basis. Under the leadership of the Global IT & Telecoms Category Manager in conjunction with respective business unit’s stakeholders develop, you will align and deploy effective key commodity strategies for the related categories, with accountability to positively impact associated annual commodity spend. You will deliver an annual Cost Out into the businesses P&L & drive Cost Avoidance of inflationary and discretionary spending items (where appropriate), impacting Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for assigned categories, increasing leverage across a rationalized set of preferred supplier partners. You will support and occasionally lead Regional (sometimes support global) RFP/RFQ exercises on supported categories and sub-categories, including coordination with all the regions and project management until deployment is fully executed. You will be responsible to drive a culture of continuous improvement, through deployment of common standards and best practices, leveraging the organization of SCM Global Indirect Events with the functional stakeholders and sites. You will be responsible to define and document in an Approved Supplier List as either ‘strategic’, ‘approved’ or ‘To Be Right sized’, working collaboratively with business units to convert spend to either ‘strategic’ or ‘approved’ supply base. With this approach, you will create and leverage a rationalized supply base that covers the majority of spend and is managed at a strategic level in both organizations. Your main responsibilities: Develop regional strategy for assigned categories, in support of global Strategies and in alignment with regional business requirements. Build and maintain internal relationship with Regional stakeholders at all levels to clearly understand and influence requirements for assigned categories Lead the supplier market analysis and ensure supplier qualification for RFQ’s Establish and lead regional cross-functional and cross-business supplier selection teams Lead supplier selection process and supplier negotiation to achieve the most competitive proposal in terms of pricing, service level, quality standard, process delivery for world class solutions Develop and finalize supply agreement and service level agreements in accordance with business, financial, legal and regulatory requirements Manage Eaton supplier’s relationship for assigned categories across North America and Mexico to create long term supplier relationships to ensure deployment programs within cost, time, & quality requirements. Build performance-based supplier relationship leading to continuous and sustainable cost reductions, quality improvements, process improvements and on time delivery performance Lead and conduct supplier performance reviews on agreed KPI’s and develop continuous improvement initiative and actions. Lead the Cost Out and Saving performance for assigned categories across North America identifying initiatives and directly managing Cost Out projects to fully maximize benefits Engage the Suppliers Base within assigned categories to drive innovative solutions, leading to Continuous improvement or Added Value differentiators in our internal processes or service delivery Participate in Global Commodity teams, leveraging their initiatives, ensuring adequate regional input as well as securing regional benefits from global strategies. #LI-ID1 Qualifications Your essential skills we are looking for: Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or Business Management MBA in Business, Supply Chain or related area - preferred Professional supply chain related certification(s) preferred: ISM, APICS, CIPS. Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience; supply chain - preferred Corporate staff function experience - preferred Possess international business cultural awareness Preferred Knowledge and Training Possess deep knowledge of the various IT & Telecoms categories. Strong data analytical skills Excellent SCM sourcing and supplier management process and deployment knowledge Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills necessary to influence a large and diverse group of stakeholders including Senior Management, Operations, Finance and Supply Chain Management personnel. Strong negotiation skills, knowledge, and experience Expertise in negotiating/interpreting legal terms and conditions Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks globally Demonstrated leadership capabilities required Establishes high performance standards and holds self and others to them. Provides timely, complete and actionable feedback, whether positive or corrective. Managerial courage and willingness to challenge the ‘status quo’ as appropriate. Presentation skills essential (both oral and written).
