Job Overview
 
The IT User Experience department at Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) is dedicated to improving the usability and overall experience of our web-based applications and websites. As problem solvers we have a passion for creating and supporting experiences that meet the exact needs of the user, while also being pleasurable to use.
 
We are looking for a user advocate who enjoys designing solutions that affect a wide user base. The ideal candidate will appreciate the opportunity to provide consultation to project teams and business customers who are not necessarily well versed in user experience design.
 
Responsibilities
- Have at least 5 years of relevant design experience, including experience in interaction design and experience across visual and motion design.
- The ideal candidate will also have experience in information architecture, user research and usability testing
- Effectively communicate and present ideas, detailed design, and design rational to project teams and stakeholders
- Evangelize design thinking and human-centered design within DTNA
- Be able to translate concepts into designs that illustrate simplicity despite system complexity
- Be comfortable influencing the strategy and user interface design of DTNA’s digital products
- Apply conceptual thinking to create best-in-class digital products while bridging user needs, business goals and technical realities
- Hands-on expertise in the development of detailed process flows, personas, site maps, use cases, user stories, user journeys, wireframes, mockups and prototypes
- Have a comprehensive understanding of industry best practices

Master's degree from an accredited university/college with 1+ year of related experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university/college with 3+ years of related experience OR Associate's Degree with 5+ years of related experience required- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Human Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Information Architecture, Visual Communication, or any design-related field is required

- An attached resume is required 

- 3-5+ years of experience designing software, web applications or mobile experiences preferred

- Experience in several of the following: designing complex workflows, framework-level interactions, information architecture, graphic/visual design, usability research / analysis required

- Track record of applying common User-Centered Design practices and tools to solve complex design problems required

- Ability to create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and functional specifications required

- Highly effective collaborator with experience working on cross-disciplinary teams required

- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and its varying methodologies required

- A self-starter with strong time management skills required

- High proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Adobe XD, required

- Knowledge of prototyping tools: Axure, Figma, Framer, InVision, Sketch preferred

- Knowledge of web-based technologies and their impact on the feasibility of design solutions including: HTML, CSS, JavaScript required

- Knowledge of popular design languages like Material Design, Human Interface Guidelines required

- Familiarity with usability testing tools and methods required
