How will You make an Impact?

In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day monitoring, escalation and/or resolution of problems and issues pertaining to the Mainframe, AS400, Server/Distributed, Cloud, Batch and Network environments for the 24x7x365 IT Operations Center (ITOC). The incumbent will require knowledge of monitoring systems such as SolarWinds, BSM, Datadog, etc.
Working knowledge of Linux and/or Windows operating systems will be needed.


What will you do?

  • Maintain and resolve issues via command line prompts
  • Perform at a high level in the areas of writing and effectively presenting presentations, status reports, technical diagrams, flowcharts/metrics creation and presentation through Power BI
  • Use problem techniques such as root cause analysis to resolve issues, logging, monitoring and event management correlation and resolution, Change Management and Incident Management
  • Understand the overall system design to ensure integrity is maintained and proactively maintain the health of all environments the ITOC monitors
  • Understand and work with problems based on SLA’s defined OR of known or perceived criticality of an issue in absence of a defined SLA
  • Perform basic administrative tasks such as unlocking user accounts, creating new users, giving access control, resolving network related issues, space management, resource management and resolving locks around resources
  • Ability to provide incident management summary to all levels of management and to think strategically about business, products and technical challenges
  • Ability to provide temporary work around and fixes until the issue is resolved permanently
How will You get here?
  • Bachelor’s degree with major in Computer Science Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited university OR have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an IT Operations support role (Command Center Operations, Network Operations Center, Server Operations, Service Desk, etc.)
  • Certificates of Azure 533 and/or AWS System Ops Administrator (Desired)
  • Knowledge of RDBMS systems such as MySQL and SQL (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of configuration tools such as Chef, Puppet and Salt
  • Understanding of load balancing and high availability architectures in an Operation’s environment
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and DNS, LDAP, NFS and SMTP

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Experience/Knowledge with Enterprise Management tools and Windows operating systems
  • Experience in a large Internet environment and maintain the health of the cloud environment
  • Experience in automated pipeline build, continuous integration and continuous deployment
  • Troubleshooting Level 1 and Level 2 issues before handing over to a SME for expert level assistance
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow
  • Good grasp of fundamental security concepts
  • Must be reliable and dependable; flexible to changing shifts to ensure proper staff coverage during planned/unplanned absences or special business processing times such as Quarter End/Year End
  • Candidate will work on an Operations’ team which require working weekends and/or holidays as schedule
