Job Description
Purpose of the role The Field Service Technician role has the primary responsibility for the maintenance and inspection of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) assets, ancillary equipment, and other highways electrical systems under our stewardship as part of the Sydney Roads Asset Performance Contract (SRAP River Zone). You will be responsible for performing routine and corrective maintenance of ITS assets in line with Siemens, legislative and customer contractual requirements. Maintenance works can be of a planned or reactive nature and you will have the ability to respond to a changing environment. The role can also include the installation of new ITS assets, or the modification of existing ones. This would also include the electrical testing and commissioning procedures associated with bringing new systems into service. The working pattern will follow a Monday-Friday 24/7 rotating roster including day and night shifts, there are also additional duties to join a rotating weekend standby and call out roster. Areas of responsibility and tasks Complex fault diagnosis, periodic inspections, routine, and corrective maintenance of ITS assets, such as Traffic Control Signals (TCS), Variable Message Signs (VMS) and Hazard warning signs (AWS, VSLS) etc. Electrical testing of ITS assets. Preparation of equipment prior to final installation e.g. Traffic Signal Controllers or vehicle detection systems. Commissioning of ITS assets. Standby roster responsibility for emergency repairs and out of hours working to support service and installation requirements. Installation or modification of new and existing ITS assets. Successful completion of mandatory technical or safety related training. Undertake appropriate training with the addition of new equipment and systems as and when necessary, via formal and informal training, including on the job training. Liaising with customers and other contractors that may be on site. Ensuring works are completed in accordance with the site specification, in a timely manner and to a high-quality level. Must hold full Australian (or equivalent approved) Driving License Required experience It is desirable to have a technical understanding in some/all of the following traffic engineering competencies: Traffic signal fundamentals and TfNSW SPECIFICATION D&C TS101 Transport for New South Wales (RMS) ITS standards/specifications Knowledge of ITS and traffic signal products from across the industry SCATS knowledge Required Qualifications NSW Electrical licence holder AS/NZS 3000 Electrical installations (known as Wiring Rules) AS/NZS 3017 Electrical installations – Verification guidelines AS/NZS 3019 Electrical installations – Periodic verification White card First aid / CPR Organization: Siemens Mobility Company: Projekt-Eintrag für Darwin - YUNEX_99 Experience Level: Experienced Professional Job Type: Full-time
