Job Description

The Pershing Architecture group provides solutions and strategies in the information security space, in particular around Identity and Access Management (IAM). These are critical to the overall security of our front-end products.

This is a new position for a hands-on leader who can contribute to all aspects of IAM, including driving strategies, and designing and developing solutions. The position would include the following responsibilities:

Responsible for the delivery of high quality architectural solutions, while ensuring compliance with company policies. Strategizes and contributes to enterprise level technological initiatives on architectures, patterns and standards. In addition to the individual contributor primary responsibilities shown below, may also have managerial responsivities, such as: recruits, directs, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. Defines and implements architecture and design in accordance with architecture principles. Adheres to established architecture methodologies and standards and ensures compliance with company policy. Identifies organization-wide initiatives and makes recommendations for the use of technology. Works closely with senior management to educate and to articulate resource requirements necessary to promote architecture goals. Oversees architecture activities of the organization to assure the strategic goals of the organization are met. Works toward architecture and design solutions. Performs enterprise planning and designing solutions for emerging business and complex technology environments. Identifies and recommends ways to drive more value out of the company's technology assets. Designs stable and flexible high performance solutions, maximizing reuse and avoiding redundancy. Works with other stakeholders in optimizing architecture solutions. Contributes to the achievement of multiple teams' objectives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. Advanced degree preferred. 10-12 years of experience in technology and architecture roles required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.

  • Understand, strategize, and lead initiatives around IAM, authentication, authorization, and other related components
  • Understand the Pershing products and how these security components are critical to their success
  • Understand the complexities of our current security systems
  • Identify gaps in existing solutions and provide solutions
  • Stay current with industry trends in the IAM space
  • Lead projects and meetings with product owners, technology owners, business leaders, and senior management
  • Work closely with US and India teams
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and fix application and database issues
  • Propose innovative and creative technology solutions
  • Manage critical support items to ensure prompt remediation of incidents
  • Document solutions using modeling, collaboration, and presentation tools
  • Provides analysis, design, development, testing and ongoing support for our IAM applications, with a focus on distributed java applications
  • Analyzes organizational needs for application development and interfaces with clients to ensure systems are developed that meet their business requirements
  • Interfaces regularly with clients and project managers to ensure that systems are developed to meet their business needs and specifications.
  • Communicates and endorses strict adherence to development and quality standards and monitors adherence on an on-going basis.
  • Communicates timely and accurate project-related information to relevant parties.
  • Acts as an advocate for change management, encourages innovation and creativity in technology solutions.
  • Contributes to the achievement of team objectives.
