Job Description

VMware’s Worldwide Practice Development team is responsible for exceeding partner created revenue targets, accelerating partner services capability and capacity and increasing advanced technology deployments. The Ignite Practice Development framework is a milestone-based approach that includes VMware supported marketing, sales and technical development to accelerate partners ability to sell and deploy VMware’s priority solutions.

Reporting to the Ignite Activation Manager, the Ignite Language Specialist will provide local language support to Chinese partners to help them successfully navigate the Ignite framework. They will work alongside an Ignite Activation Specialist who is responsible for managing overall program execution.

The ideal candidate is detail oriented, collaborative, assertive, organized and is committed to delivering impactful outcomes in a team environment. This role will collaborate with Worldwide and GEO cross-functional teams and interact directly with partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Ignite Activation Specialist to help guide Chinese partners through VMware’s Ignite Practice Development framework
  • Translate Ignite presentations and communications from English to Chinese
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Chinese partners
  • Read and respond to emails in Chinese
  • Hold meetings by phone and Zoom with VMware’s China team and Chinese partners to explain process and answer questions


Skills and Requirements:

  • Communicate in written and spoken English
  • Communicate in written and spoken Chinese
  • Proficiently translate English to Chinese
  • Understand Chinese culture
  • Previous work, education or living experience in China is an advantage
  • Must have attention to detail
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • Ability to work some evening hours for meetings with China team
  • Ability to travel to China
