We are looking for an experienced Image Quality Technician for the HoloLens Sensor Team with responsibilities for ongoing evaluation, benchmarking and characterization of sensors used in HoloLens. The HoloLens Sensor Team is responsible for design, characterization, and integration of sensors including camera modules, inertial motion sensors, and other environmental sensors.
Responsibilities
• Conduct testing of custom camera modules for optical and sensor characterization
• Capture images in a controlled lab environment using documented test procedures
• Capture images using sensor developer kit hardware, custom image capture hardware, and prototype hardware electronics
• Process captured images using analysis software
• Organize captured images for subsequent analysis or reference
• Present results of analysis to engineers and management
• Conduct competitive analysis testing of other products such as phone cameras, DSC’s, action cameras, etc
• Assist in defining camera test procedures
• Assist with equipment maintenance, repair, and calibration
• Assist with ongoing lab maintenance and organization
Qualifications
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in photography-related discipline or in an engineering discipline with an emphasis on digital imaging and/or image processing
• 2+ years experience in image quality testing, optical lab testing, or similar
• Deep knowledge of photography and digital imaging
• Familiarity with optical and image quality metrics such as MTF, relative illumination, distortion, etc
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently as needed
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office
Desired:
• Familiarity with commercial image quality analysis tools such as Imatest and IQAnalyzer
• Experience testing custom lenses and/or camera modules.
• Understanding of image quality metrics and evaluation methodology
• Experience with objective camera bench testing and subjective image quality analysis
