The Visa and Immigration Specialist is responsible for assisting Crown clients and assignees with their China visa and immigration matters. The primary role is to ensure the assignee is guided and supported throughout the entire immigration process in a timely and professional manner.
This role will be part of a team that reports directly to the China Immigration Team Lead.
MAIN RESPONSBILITIES:
- Oversee the end-to-end application of the Visa and Immigration Service, including but not limited to:
contacting with client
coordination with other involved parties (moving team, housing team, etc.)
collection, review, and submission of documents
- Anticipate any potential blocking points and work to find possible solutions and manage client expectations
- Raise any potential compliance issues to Crown management
- Keeping abreast of any changes to China immigration law and procedures and communicate any updates to clients
- Administrative work with relation to case reporting and client invoicing
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Excellent Communication Skills: You should be able to express immigration information clearly to clients and service partners in both verbal and written Chinese and English. Requirements and procedures can be complex and frustrating, and you should be able to guide the applicant through the entire process and managing expectations as the situation requires.
Strong Analytical Skills: You will often be required to analyze complicated timetables and immigration requirements and be able to distill these into a workable plan while also identifying potential blocking points early on.
Critical Thinking Skills: You must be able to think quickly, often solving problems as they arise. You should be flexible and adaptable to ever-changing circumstances at a moment’s notice, all the while maintaining high service standards.
Organizational Skills: Your caseload will have applications at various stages of processing and approval. In addition, there will be internal administrative reporting responsibilities competing for your attention. You will need to balance and prioritize accordingly all the while ensuring service standards remain high and deadlines are met.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Fluent in English and Chinese (both spoken and written). Skill in other languages is a big plus.
- At least 2 years’ experience of China immigration work is highly desirable, but candidates from related disciplines possessing the required skills are also encouraged to apply.
- An educational background in immigration law is highly desirable but not a must.
