Job Description
Job Summary Coordinate with shipping & purchasing to deliver a range of compenents and products to assure the timely execution of import/export shipments. Tasks Responsible for the movement of merchandise and/or material in/out of the country in compliance with federal, state, local regulations and Souriau-Sunbank. Calculates duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume of merchandise exported or imported, to and from foreign destinations. Follow up with freight forwarders and carriers to ensure that the proper documentation is received back to meet export/import requirements maintain communication with the customs office. Follow up with customer service team for shipment release authorizations if required. Request and verify freight quotations for shipments. Reconcile open orders and perform physical daily walk through of items to be shipped/received to ensure all scheduled shipments leave/receive at the facility. Managing the transportation/warehouse 3PL and all metrics related Lead resolve of any transportation issues such as damaged or missing boxes. Managing the government resolution to broker Support transportation expedites in the material exception management. Ensures proper coordination with other internal departments including but not limited to production, purchasing, planning and inside sales Job Characteristics Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast paced and demanding Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, and well organized. Exhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and professionalism. Strong computer skills including expertise in Microsoft Office Suite including Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must have high degree of integrity, discretion and judgment. Professional communication skills in both written and verbal formats. Demonstrated customer service focus. Qualifications Special Requirements Proficient skills in MS-Office. Bilingual (Spanish / English). Knowledge of Industrial Safety. Knowledge of Personnel Management. Requires a lot of initiative. Proficient skills in ERP Education & Qualifications • Education: Industrial Engineering or Business administration graduate preferred. • Experience: 6 month to one (1) year experience in distribution, shipping and/or receiving department, and/or import/export compliance Safety Expectations Learn and follow all safety requirements. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action. Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Actively participate in safety improvement activities. Report any unsafe practices by coworkers or contractors. Immediately report all injuries and other safety incidents. Others MFG-PRO system experience preferred.
