The role

 

 

We are currently looking for an Inbound Logistics Coordinator to join our Supply Chain team on an initial 6-month fixed term contract. You will be responsible for the coordination and execution of our inbound container processes. You will be comfortable communicating with a range of stakeholders including Local Supply Planners, Management team, Overseas suppliers, and 3rd Party logistics providers to achieve our desired service and inventory levels.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinating inventory movement and tracking from the point of order through to entry into NZ and devanning
• Manage and streamline inbound container flows ensuring the best possible service by prioritizing when necessary whilst avoiding unnecessary charges; detention, demurrage, and express freight/drayage where possible
• Ensure all import documentation is supplied or follow up action is communicated to our designated Customs Broker prior to vessel arrival
• Work with 3PLS to ensure quick and efficient devanning and prioritization of containers
• Continuously review and simplify all import processes, implementing changes as and when required
• Provide KPI reporting to the Management Team.
• Assist Customer Service team to process Logistic claims and provide cover when necessary. 
• Assist Supply Planners and Inventory Controller when required

 

What are we looking for?

• 2-3 years’ experience in a logistics & inventory or FMCG environment
• Strong analytical and financial ability
• A strength in conflict management and problem solving
• Strong customer focus
