Job Description
Eaton’s Industrial sector is currently seeking an Incoming Inspection Quality Technician to join our team. This position is based at our Kings Mountain location. Position Overview: The primary responsibilities of this position are to perform regular incoming inspection on production supplied components, record the results of the inspections in WISPER, also to perform the analysis of suspect components using the Eaton blue prints and specifications when a potential quality issue on production supplied parts has been reported inside the Kings Mountain Plant, notify the internal/external suppliers using e-mails and notifications through WISPER and immediate to implement and develop any type of approved containment/rework actions to protect the Eaton customers and the KM manufacturing processes. The incumbent will utilize knowledge of any inspection gages and metrology & gear lab equipment and programming to assess product quality, thereby reducing cost of nonconforming material in order to help achieve plant and department goals and objectives. Job assignment will typically include receiving evaluations, in-process evaluation, final evaluation, containment of quality issues, data management, as assigned. In this function you will: Develop incoming inspections and rework to production components. Must know how to obtain, read, and understand product specification requirements, such as part drawings, Eaton standards, spec sheets, process sheets, process drawings, control plans, PFMEAs, IPIRs, etc. Able to use various gaging methods such as: CMMs, Profile Projectors, micrometers, calipers, surface finishing, Go-NoGo gages, etc., trigonometric function and formulas. Able to use Microsoft software and other Eaton software systems (i.e. WISPER Enovia, etc.). Ability to support the Endurant final inspection and other quality areas and able to work flexible hours, overtime, weekends. Able to use power industrial equipment (Forklift, etc) Ability to work both as a team member, must be able to communicate with plant employees, members from other Eaton sites and with external vendors for any quality problems with supplied components. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Blueprint reading; Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Preferred Qualifications: Preferred: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Infinity and Minitab (optional). Position Criteria: Complies with all company safety policies and procedures. Good communication skills with other Ability to perform job function without direct supervision. Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks. Must successfully complete basic blueprint reading and GD&T classes within first 30 days of job assignment to continue in job.
