Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Establish the methods and frequency for the inspection of raw material that is used for manufacturing, ensuring that certified product is introduced to the production lines. Manage supplier component approval, performance, communication of discrepancies, and corrective action closure along with actions required for supplier development. Oversee the activities related to calibration of the measuring and test equipment used in the manufacturing lines and laboratory, so that this activity is done as programmed and within budget. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Create inspection plans in accordance with CTQs, whether they are design or process based. Determine which is the most appropriate measurement device and measuring method for the characteristic that needs to be inspected. Determine the quality requirements for the introduction of new products and processes, so that the First Article Inspection process is followed. Perform mechanical, chemical proprieties, and composition inspection on row materials. Provide support to production area related non-conforming raw material. Supervises the functions of Quality Auditors with respect to the testing and evaluation of incoming materials, ensuring that transactions of receiving, accepting, or rejecting material is reflected in the inventory control system accordingly. Receive and review supplier documentation for PPAP approval. Determine the inspection level based on supplier performance: skipped lot, sampling, 100% inspection. If material is rejected, follow non-conforming procedure to segregate suspect product. Generate DMR for supplier notification in the system and notify purchasing, production, and quality so that containment actions are initiated. Maintain constant communication with corporate supplier quality located in Pune, India to follow-up on supplier corrective actions, as appropriate. Ensure timely follow-up on supplier corrective action response. Keep track of all supplier quality issues and performance such as PPMs, DMR aging, rejected material disposition, supplier chargebacks (as applicable). Control of non-conforming material and Material Review Board (MRB) process so that it is disposed within the required timeframe. Participate with Supply Chain in supplier assessments and supplier development plans as appropriate. Determine calibration methods and equipment based on laboratory and manufacturing needs. Perform R&R studies on measuring devices and inspection methods used for incoming inspection. Responsible for calibration activities related to device identification, calibration schedule, external calibration budget. Responsible to administrate personnel: incoming quality auditors and calibration technician. Keep related procedures up to date, along with work instructions to ensure compliance with ISO 9000:2015, internal quality policies, and relevant engineering standards. #LI-MA1 Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Bachelor’s in Engineering degree. Internal ISO 9001:2015 auditor. Ability to communicate in English, spoken and written (advanced level) is indispensable. Demonstrated experience of a minimum of 3 years in similar position, where there has been exposure to supplier quality, quality control, PPAP approval, incoming inspection. Metrology experience is a plus. Knowledge on ISO 17025 standard. Lean tools knowledge. Strong skills for solving problems tools (8D, Pareto, 5 Why’s, etc.) Core tools certified: APQP, SPC, MSA, PPAP, FMEA, and Control Plan. Strong computer applications skills (specially datasheets and spreadsheets) such as: AS400, Excel, Power Point, Minitab, Word, PowerBI (desirable). Ability to write reports and effectively communicate at all levels (both in Spanish and English). Ability to supervise and manage personnel. Conocer los aspectos ambientales e impactos de su actividad y aplicar los controles operacionales aplicables a su puesto (Separar y depositar en los contenedores que corresponda los residuos de basura común, papel reciclable, botes de aluminio, cartuchos vacíos de tóner y tinta; reportar fugas de agua y gas, reducir consumo de agua y energía y reducir generación de residuos) Conocer y asegurar que el personal a su cargo aplique los controles operacionales que apliquen a sus areas de responsabilidad que puedan impactar a los recursos naturales. Completar los entrenamientos de EHS que le sean asignados (Entrenamiento General de MESH). Comunicar cualquier situación de emergencia de detecte a EHS o a su supervisor y seguir los procedimientos de respuesta a emergencias de las mismas.
