Main responsibilities:
1) VAT Compliance (approx. 70% of the job description)
a) Working with the current Indirect Tax Compliance consultant EMEA on
managing/reviewing more than 1,100 VAT compliance filings and related
reporting processes for 30+ (and growing rapidly) VAT registrations across
EMEA;
b) Co-ordinate the gathering and distribution of source information required
for VAT filings;
c) Review VAT returns (SAP knowledge is a preference) prepared by in house
team in China
d) Authorize the Indirect tax (see c) related filings and payments;
e) Ensure thorough review, timely filings and payments;
f) Assist and work closely with the regional accounting team based in Glasgow
on VAT reconciliation between VAT return and ledgers
g) Assist and work closely with our in house VAT compliance preparation team
in China on VAT return preparation and related questions/input
h) Assist with the preparation of timely responses to tax inquiries and VAT
audits and ESL audits;



2) VAT Control Support (approx. 20% of the job description)
a) Support the VAT internal control process in EMEA – filings, payments,
receivables;
b) Support management in regard to all VAT policies and strategies;
c) Participate in weekly/ bi-weekly meetings with tax and accounting team to
discuss country by country VAT compliance specific challenges etc.
d) Pro-actively use the VAT compliance work experience to identify
opportunities for VAT compliance process optimization as well as to Lenovo in
general;
e) Take an active role in monitoring and identifying , where necessary,
processes which could put Lenovo’s VAT compliance recovery at risk;
f) Identify and report IT systems issues and follow up where necessary;
g) Monitor developments (VAT rate changes etc.) in indirect tax legislation
using global databases;


3) Business Support (approx. 10% of the job)
a) Provide VAT compliance related business support for the EMEA region;
b) Work closely with Indirect Tax team on non-compliance projects and ad hoc
queries / issues.

Position Requirements:
1) Strong knowledge of Value Added Tax across EMEA region

2) Working experience in EMEA region in value added tax compliance, reporting
and payments

3) Strong sense of responsibility and accountability combined with ability to
work on his/her own initiative

4) Strong accounting, analytical and communication skills, organized and
focused approach, willingness to get into the detail and follow through

5) Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining oversight; ability to
deal with tax issues in wider business context

6) Personable, team player, effective management of external service providers

7) Fluent in English.

8) At least 3 years working experience at EMEA level in industry

9) Good working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint); working
knowledge of SAP is an advantage

Base gross monthly salary from 1400 EUR, depending on experience + variable
part
