Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. is seeking a well-rounded, initiative-taking individual for a position to oversee indirect taxes. The position requires a team leader that is organized, responsive, and can oversee multiple projects while producing accurate and timely results. The person in this position will be expected to: (i) lead the company’s indirect tax compliance obligations (ii) interpret tax laws and rulings to resolve questions from the business. The person will interact with affiliated company and third-party service providers. This person will work with strategic business partners and staff to promote awareness and assess potential impacts to the company. This position will be based out of Siemens Healthineers’ Malvern, PA offices, under a hybrid work model with a blend of remote working and in-office working for meetings and projects, as needed. Some travel may also be required (about 10% to 15% of the time). Duties & Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Manage direct reports and other service providers in the preparation of all the Company’s indirect tax filings (namely, sales and use, property tax, business licenses, and annual reports). Analyze general ledger data, and review account reconciliations. Review exemption certificates and advise on business tax issues including taxability of products, services, and bundles. Recommend and implement system changes to insure proper taxability. Proactively, create, as necessary, tax processes and controls. Define workflows and assignments to obtain optimum effectiveness. Develop and guide direct reports or other service providers by providing effective performance feedback and ensuring that their responsibilities are consistent with skills and developmental goals. Participate in and provide analysis and recommendations with respect to the company’s M&A activities. Coordinate with financial contacts and auditors on tax reporting issues. Required knowledge, skills, education, and experience: Extensive knowledge of indirect tax compliance processes. Experience with Vertex Software. CPA or Master’s Degree in accounting or tax preferred. Indirect Tax experience – Eight (8) years. Ability to manage people and processes, including the ability to interact effectively within various levels of management. Organized and flexible - ability to manage multiple projects/assignments, while meeting deadlines. Strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite and various tax law research software. Experience with SAP a plus.
