Job Title:One Individual & Society Teacher for MYP
Location: Ningbo China
Salary & Benefits: Salary will be within the range of CNY210,000 - CNY350,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition, an attractive package including housing allowance(3500Yuan per month for Single 4000Yuan for a couple), airfare allowance, bonus, settling-in allowance, relocation allowance and a worldwide health insurance will be provided for international appointments.
This position is for an IBMYP, teacher of Individuals and Societies. It is a compulsory subject for the MYP. The teacher would also be an MYP homeroom teacher, sharing the homeroom group with a Chinese homeroom teacher.
The middle school has grades 7-9, with two classes per grade. They are spread along on corridor, which includes coordinators' offices, teachers staffroom and student lounge. As such, a positive, close-knit atmosphere is able to be created. There are also specialist drama, art and music spaces in an adjoining building. The IBMYP programme encourages group and project work and the pathway for our MYP students in grade 10 and then the IB diploma programme. This is an academic, university bound programme, which requires considerable effort. Our students are encouraged to do the full IB diploma. So, in the MYP, there is pressure on our students to acquire the skills necessary for later success.
This teacher would work closely with the MYP team to support the middle school students. There is a shared professionalism and philosophy in the middle school that carries over to the students. We are looking for someone who will fit well into that group.
