-Work directly with industrial designers, product planners, and mechanical engineers to define the design requirements for Motorola products, whilst focusing on consumer experience.
-Create CMF specification documents to enable engineers to understand product concepts. Ensuring all materials are color-matched, approved and clearly documented. Monitor project progress and troubleshoot production difficulty with proactive actions.
-Lead and organize workshops with suppliers and prototyping activities, working closely, with the design group to develop feasible ingredients for mass-production.
-Research global consumer lifestyle and design trends, cross-referencing inspirations from fashion & beauty, furniture and home accessories, automotive, packaging, music culture, fine art, and digital media. Followed-up by definition and conceptualization of palette, patterns, and material technology in ways that can be applied onto Motorola products.
-Identify key industry trend narratives that drive strategic versatility and broad demographic appeal. Ensuring CMF strategies and ID concepts are flexible from the outset.
-Research innovative materials and processes, to drive product innovation and keep in mind of cost parameters and feasibility, engaging directly with suppliers, and working closely with cross-functional teams to enable translation of these advanced technology from concept to reality.
-Attend and visit trade shows, research trips, suppliers and other potential research sources.
#### Position Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
-Bachelor degree or above in Product/Industrial/Material/Textile Design, Applied Arts, or Material Engineering.
-Approximately 3-8 years of relevant experience (trend research, color proposals, mass-production), and a plus point for work experience in mobile phone industry.
-Passion for emerging design trends and technical knowledges in manufacturing processes.
-Must be detail-oriented and shown superior project management skill.
-(Optional) Plus point if the person has good visualization and presentation skills, and is familiar with Keyshot, Adobe Creative Suite and PowerPoint documentation.
-(Optional) Plus point if the person is fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
-(Optional) Background in industrial design with a passion for creating design solutions that positively impact the consumer, address consumer needs and elevate the Motorola/Lenovo brand globally.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills.
-Must work effectively with a variety of team members.
-Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
-Involvement in local and global design community.
-Experience in consumer electronics and mobile industry is a plus
