We are seeking an Industrial Engineer Technician for our Henderson, NC location.

The Industrial Engineer Technician will facilitate the implementation and daily execution of Mars Supply Excellence (MSE)/TPM program and Continuous Improvement (CI) activities.  This associate will be the subject matter expert for performance data systems and related skills, as well as, be the lead for tasks such as:  Problem solving / root cause identification, focused improvement, performance KPIs and related performance systems.  The IE Technician will report to the Site IE/Lean Manager.

 

What would be your key responsibilities?

  • Gather and analyze data to trend losses and create action plans to address losses.
  • Works with rotating shift team to eliminate losses and execute Focused Improvement (FI) projects.
  • Implement focused improvement projects in conjunction with the FI pillar and Continuous Improvement teams, directed at process failure reduction and waste reduction.
  • Perform root cause analysis on process interruptions by leading small group of associates through Mars problem solving tools.
  • Identify potential unsafe conditions and make improvement recommendations.
  • Identify potential food safety risks and make improvement recommendations.
  • Interact with engineering, operations and maintenance teams to improve equipment efficiency, as well as, eliminate waste.
  • Daily involvement with FI through data analysis and loss reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot digital FMOS for the site.
  • Participate and lead the implementation of FI activities.
  • Participate and lead the sustainment of FI initiatives through health checks, daily / weekly audits and feedback to equipment owners, shift managers, and operations managers as needed.
  • Utilize downtime tracking data system, such as FMOS or PFIS, to analyze trends and recommend corrective measures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

What are we looking for?

  • Associate of Applied Science in manufacturing or engineering related fields is desired
  • TPM, AM, AWT, 5S, Continuous Improvement, Problem Solving experience / training is desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to teach others with tools such as one-point lessons and leading by example.
  • Ability to prepare power point presentations and be comfortable presenting in front of others.
  • Intermediate MS Excel skills required including interpretation, organization and analysis of data.
  • SAP Knowledge and experienced in using a variety of transactions.
  • Ability to lead a small team of people to achieve a common solution.
  • Able to gather data from multiple sources including but not limited to PFIS, SAP, Red Prairie, and Power BI.
  • Strong problem-solving capability, with ability to identify corrective and preventative actions
