BSI is actively pursuing experienced, enthusiastic, dedicated and self-motivated individuals to join our growing NYC Industrial Hygiene practice. The Industrial Hygienists primary duties include environmental and health and safety surveys; review of construction drawings/documents; preparation of environmental survey reports. Additional IH experience/certifications, applicable degree a plus, must be accustomed to a fast-paced work environment, effective verbal and written communication skills required.  

Responsibilities may include:

• Industrial hygiene (IAQ, investigations, sampling, monitoring, assessments)
• Health and safety code compliance
• Sustainability related projects included Corporate Social Responsibility, environmental footprint, energy use reduction, and others
• Developing and delivering EHS/Occupational Health and Safety training
• EHS assessments/general program compliance audits
• Regulatory compliance
• Occupational safety surveys/inspections
• Workstation ergonomic evaluations with support from other ergonomic staff
• Environmental issues (air, waste water, hazardous waste)
• EHS & ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 program development
• Writing technical reports

Required experience and certifications:

• 2 - 5 years of experience in the hazardous building materials, indoor air quality and industrial hygiene industry.
• Must be proficient with MS Office applications.
• BA/BS degree in related field, preferred. 
• Must be able to review project specifications and drawings.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• NYCDEP Asbestos Investigator / NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector
• USEPA Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor
• OSHA 10 Hour Construction Safety and Health Training
