Eaton’s Electrical Power Systems division is currently seeking an Industrial Painter – 2nd Shift for our Transformer Assembly Team. The hourly rate for this role starts at $20.80/hr + 1.25/hr shift premium, depending on experience. The core hours for this position are from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm. This position is based at our Badger Drive facility in Waukesha, WI. This position is offering a sign-on bonus of $2,000*, less applicable withholding. *Bonus terms: Bonuses are being offered for a limited time only. Applications must be submitted on or after January 24th, 2023 to qualify. Bonuses are only applicable to specific job types and shifts; additional terms and conditions may apply. Associates must be employed at the time of the payout. Bonuses will be payable in two installments: $1,000, less applicable withholding will be paid after three (3) months of employment and the remaining $1,000, less applicable withholding will be paid after nine (9) months of employment Why work at Eaton? All units must be painted before final inspection. The individual must produce an eye-pleasing, durable, painted finished product. In this function you will: Follow all safety protocols for paint disposal, and the safe use and disposal of solvent for cleaning paint guns and components. Be responsible for the proper preparation of all surfaces to be sprayed; this includes bare metal areas and proper sanding, feather edging of previously painted surfaces. Soap wash, sealer application, and blow or air-dry transformers for top quality surface preparation and adhesion of topcoat to the basecoat. Be required to know what bushings and associated transformer accessories must be masked to prevent them from being painted. Epoxy prime bare metal surfaces as needed to ensure proper adhesion of basecoat to metal. Rework and repaint transformers as required to meet inspection standards. Painting of small parts and non-standard fabricated materials. Check the Bills of Material for correct color. Adjust and periodically check all pump pressures, heater temperatures, air and fluid pressures to maintain the best possible spraying application condition. Check and maintain proper fluid and air pressure in pressure pots used for spraying all special colors. Change filters and maintain the cleanliness of spray booth associates’ floor areas on a scheduled basis. Use the crane to move units into the spray booth and use a crane to store painted units in the staging area for inspection. Cross-train and perform duties in other work areas of the assembly team. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree) from an accredited institution is required. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future. No relocation is being offered for this role. All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the Waukesha, WI facility. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum of six (6) months of previous industrial painting experience. Working knowledge of Graco ProMix in-line mixing systems Painting experience with Urethane topcoats Previous working knowledge of industrial airless and/or air pressure painting Position Criteria: Ability to work overtime when required.
