Location: This position has the flexibility to be based from a home office anywhere in the US
Job Summary:
You must be experienced, professional, and passionate about storytelling. In this role you will define and execute the go-to-market strategy for the energy infrastructure segment with a focus on electric power. This includes driving awareness, demand, and adoption of Bentley’s solutions worldwide. You will use your strategy skills and story-telling talent to reach audiences and position Bentley as the preferred technology provider of digital twin solutions that are driving energy transformation. You will be responsible for marketing Bentley’s portfolio to enterprise engineering firms, energy companies and electric and gas utilities. And you will create and execute marketing programs including positioning/messaging, targeted and account-based marketing campaigns based on regional needs and sales focus.
This role requires a highly driven, self-motivated, data-informed individual who will bring an energetic approach to marketing strategy and execution. To be successful, you will need to work with sales, business development, user success and product management to define go-to-market strategies that position and sell Bentley applications in support of the complete asset lifecycle. To execute your plans, you will partner with other marketing professionals focused on web design, graphic design, PR, advertising, and events. And you will interact with executive management representing your go-to-market strategy for the energy industry initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders including product management and development teams, sales, user success, content and product marketing, and regional marketing
- Gather and analyze market data (users, prospects, competitors)
- Develop clear and compelling value propositions that address needs and help asset owners, operators, and engineering firms advance digitally across the full lifecycle
- As part of industry advisory board, define long term go-to-market plan for energy and help define strategy for short term initiatives owned by content marketing.
- Evangelize the message both internally and externally per target (buyer/decision) persona demonstrating story-telling abilities that can make the complex simple, and invoke both empathy and excitement
- Support initiative content development thought leadership and awareness content or the buyer journey
- Work with 3rd parties to develop reports and whitepapers.
- When applicable build buyer journey materials (both marketing and sales) – third party articles, point of view articles/blogs, presentation materials
- Assist in case study development to showcase success stories
- Develop sales enablement content (in collaboration with initiative team and product marketing)
- Assist Product Management in presenting to analysts with both material development and presentation
- Interact with third parties for co-marketing opportunities and promotional events
- Understand product strategies, the specification of new product offerings and ensuring all information and content is updated in industry overview presentation materials
- Ensure all aspects of business are on brand, consistent, focused on customer outcomes, and employ best marketing practices
- Benchmark against internal growth goals and trend lines; and maintain competitive fact base including competitor successes, product offerings, positioning, price structure, how to sell against, etc.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of product/industry marketing experience with a proven track record in information technology and/or enterprise software
- Electric and gas industry Marketing or Sales, required, broader energy industry a plus
- Strong B-to-B experience and skills
- Excellent oral communication and storytelling skills
- Adept at teaming and collaboration
- Able to persuade and influence without direct authority
- Energetic, creative, and self-motivated
- Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer. The role requires communication with managers, peers, and other colleagues of the company in person (on occasion), and by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling and meeting functions.
- This role requires travelling 10-25% of the year, post COVID
