Microsoft's Intelligent Cloud provides a global, trusted and hybrid cloud platform for rapidly expanding cloud workloads.  Our customers are evolving their cloud strategies embracing the Intelligent Edge and expect Microsoft to help them define and execute those strategies.  The goal of the Practice Lead is to drive customer Digital Transformation based on deep understanding of their industry, its drivers and the critical solutions within a specific Marquee account.  The role is designed to be on point for developing the multi year plan with the customer, that spans a wide range opportunity across the entire MSFT portfolio. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding to customers issues, context, challenges and strategic direction, and a deep understanding of the industry partner ecosystem relevant to the specific industry solutions and the local Retail & CG markets.  

Responsibilities

This role requires someone who is highly motivated combining exceptional strategic thinking, superior executive communication skills, project management, quantitative skills and excellent team member skills (down, across, and up.)  

• Serve Walmart as a trusted Retail Thought Leader and Advisor: Understand the customer's business, industry, priorities. Focus on improving customer's time-to-value by driving key cloud projects on any of 3 Microsoft clouds 
• Drive growth at Walmart working by influencing and shaping their technology strategy and build innovative partnerships 
• Continuously learn new services and develop architecture design skills in infrastructure workloads 
• Work closely with the Walmart leadership to identify, vet and prove out high value solutions to drive market making joint outcomes 
• Work closely with product groups and engineering to provide feedback on products/services, OCP to advise on partner whitespace, Marketing, Services and selected partners that are in motion at Walmart.  Via this feedback loop, help the broader Micorsoft teams develop industry solutions in such a way that they scale through the industry (or vertical) based on the industry solution map. 
• Work with Walmart dedicated team (EOU, CSU, CSE, etc) and other retail specific resources to land retail “light house” scenarios at Walmart and provide feedback to Corp on relevant products, services and partner engagement model.  
• Iterate and learn from Walmart specific initiatives and partner engagements to improve the solution package to the point where the solution (products, solution, engagement models) it is stable and well understood allowing us to scale out to other Microsoft teams. 
• Have deep competitive differentiation understanding & objective handling including certification & compliance regulations.  

Qualifications

5+ years Industry domain technical expertise based on experience in technical roles at a company in the Retail industry  
 
Strategic Solutions Sales skills acquired within a significant Industry solution selling experience. Industry technical sales or consulting position within a Partner or Services company a plus
