Job Description
The Infrastructure Engineer role is a pivotal member of the Infrastructure and Technology Operations team and will contribute to the successful enablement of the AIA ANZ enterprise-wide IT strategy, vision and roadmap. You’ll be part of a trans-Tasman team, reporting into the Infrastructure Delivery Manager in Melbourne.

About the Role

  • This role will assist in the management of third-party technology suppliers and provide liaison between the business and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of core infrastructure services.

  • The Infrastructure Engineer will assist in the design, planning, management and, implementation of enterprise wide, scalable technologies to support overall IT operations and ensure stable operation of AIA Australia and New Zealand’s Data Centres, systems, storage and communications technology platforms.

  • The role will bring strong communication skills, flexibility, team focus and a customer centric lens.

  • The role will develop a capability that ensures optimal technology infrastructure and network for all of AIA Australia & New Zealand that will;

  • Assist in the design, planning, management and implementation of enterprise wide infrastructure services.

  • Work with the business to understand requirements, provide guidance and engage third party supplier delivery to ensure optimal technology infrastructure and network services are delivered.

  • Identifying opportunities for service quality improvement and cost savings of third party services where appropriate.

  • Have input to medium and long-term technology infrastructure and network strategy and direction.

  • Ensure effective partnering with business units to deliver technology infrastructure and network in support of AIA’s enterprise IT strategy and BU goals

About you:

  • Minimum 5 years’ technical experience within enterprise environments with a focus on data centres and facilities, servers, storage, network, data protection, cloud platforms and related enterprise software across these technology stacks

  • Infrastructure engineering experience with strong Windows/Linux Server design, configuration, and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with multi-tenant architecture and cloud integrations is highly valued.

  • Financial Services and/or Insurance Industry experience is advantageous.

  • ITIL Certification, or demonstrable experience within ITIL organisation.

  • Solid understanding of business needs and customer focus beyond technical/technology aspects

  • Experience with regulatory compliance, IT compliance and security controls.

  • Experience working on and delivery of technology enabled projects.
