Summary

This role will mainly contribute to the active development of the innovation pipeline of Acute Renal by identifying new opportunities and developing new concepts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Play a lead role in the identification and evaluation of new unmet needs / opportunities in the area of Acute Renal
• Apply rigorous innovation methodology to identify new opportunities and quickly assess them
• Conduct primary field visits research to identify and/or confirm unmet needs specially in the area of Acute Renal/CRRT therapy management (clinicians interviews, field visits, .)
• Conduct secondary research to collect additional scientific data (literature, patents, preclinical and clinical data review, congress…)
• Provide clear recommendations on initial scope and next steps to the project team at the earlier stage of the project
• Lead the cross-functional evaluation of the needs (R&D, medical, marketing and RA/IP as needed) to prioritize them according to Baxter’s methodology
• Elaborate new concepts and independently execute rapid screening of these new ideas/concepts (including technical feasibility, R&D budget estimate, product cost.)
• Partner with marketing team to quickly size the commercial opportunity
• Reach conclusions based on research analysis and provide clear recommendations to senior management
• Develop and maintain broad knowledge in Acute Renal, participate to the main conferences in this field, stay up-to-date with all relevant literature and patents and support the development of collaboration with Universities
• Participate actively to the innovation process to generate new ideas
• Support actively technology landscapes assessment as per business need
• Support business development team as per need
• Ensure IP protection for any new ideas when relevant

Qualifications

• Master or PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent degree
• Master’s degree in business or equivalent experience
• Excellent written and oral English skill
• Preferably at least 5 years of relevant experience in healthcare industry or related fields
• Broad scientific knowledge and ability to use it to perform rapid assessment of any new opportunity
• Passionate by innovation and new technologies in the Health industry
• Interest in IT is a plus
• Excellent communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, especially medical and marketing teams
• Very good ability to provide clear direction to the project team while a lot of elements are still undefined (good business acumen to identify the right opportunities, synthetize the information, quickly zero in to critical questions, define clear scope)
• Comfortable to provide some recommendation and/or make decision with limited information
• Think creatively about new concepts and new ways to innovate
• Positive mind-set
• Like to challenge the status quo
• ICU nursing experience or internsivist experience
