Engineering Discipline

Major Duties:
(a) To perform teaching duties, including student assessment, operating and maintaining training facilities and equipment to support teaching and learning in brickwork & trowel trades workshop and other construction trades;
(b) To provide support in programme operations;
(c) To prepare and update samples and mockups on brickwork and trowel trades to facilitate the practical training;
(d) To perform duties in relation to student administration including student admission and records, job placement and other student activities;
(e) To implement quality assurance policies; and
(f) To maintain and enhance networks with the industry and related associations.
Requirements:
(a) A recognised higher diploma in Construction or equivalent;
(b) At least 3 years’ work experience in construction industry with hands-on experience in trowel and brickwork trades;
(c) A certificate in Bricklayer / Plasterer / Tiling;
(d) Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese;
(e) Good knowledge of basic computer applications; and
(f) Ability to pass a trade test.
Notes:
(1) The initial posting is in the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Morrison Hill).
(2) Candidates without the required academic qualification stated in the Requirement (a) but possessing 8 years’ work or teaching experience in the relevant industry may also apply. Where applicable, these candidates may be required to have a Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 3 qualification.
(3) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and in designated places as assigned.
