Then come and join our team as an Instruments Production Manager. You will manage all aspects of resource planning, production scheduling and manufacturing for our Instrument products. You will have ownership for all product lines and be responsible for proactively challenging output and results through analysis of efficiency reports, First Time Pass Rate data, and will drive the area production line managers in being the key instigators and leads for CIP activities. You will be champion for improvements in Quality and productivity through strategic thinking to drive to be World Class. Our Healthcare Diagnostics business is based at our site in Sudbury, Suffolk. Recently celebrating 80 years of manufacturing excellence, our Sudbury site designs and assembles blood, urine and diabetes analysis instruments. As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for: Managing the production operation with focus on Quality, Customer Service and Costs ensuring all product lines are driving to achieve due dates thus reducing potential for missed customer orders. Carrying out regular broad load trend analysis, to optimise capacity plans and to maintain the optimal level of direct staff. This will include review of departmental (and by costs centre) the utilisation & efficiency levels of the operations to identify root cause of lost productivity. These reviews will result in the setting of budgets annually for all spend, resource requirements and capital expenditure Contributing actively towards reducing year-on-year product cost movements by improving production utilisation & efficiency and ensuring all CI activities are resourced, managed and driven to successful completion. Complying with and support the Health, Safety and Environment statements, policies and procedures as well as ensuring that all H&S audits are carried out accordingly as well as annual assessments. To investigate any EHS incident raised within the area to drive to a Zero Harm culture. Required skills to have for the success of this role To have a general knowledge of finance and budgeting to allow affective analysis and cost control through to budget setting activities. To bring knowledge of alternative approaches, identifies best practice through previous experience and benchmarking to a manufacturing environment to enable change in processes (need to validate changes) and to drive the utilisation & efficiency of the group to reduce costs and improve quality.
