Role Overview
A prestigious K–12 school in Shanghai is seeking an enthusiastic Integrated Science Teacher to join its lower secondary division. The successful candidate will introduce students in Grades 6–7 to foundational scientific concepts across biology, chemistry, physics, and earth sciences, fostering curiosity and scientific thinking through inquiry-based learning.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging integrated science lessons covering basic concepts in biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science.
Develop students' scientific inquiry skills through hands-on experiments, observations, and simple investigations.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to support learning.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and questions.
Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and school-wide science initiatives.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress when required.
Participate in departmental meetings, professional development, and school events as needed.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree or higher in Science Education, General Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably at the middle school or lower secondary level.
Stable work employment history with no frequent job changes.
Ability to teach across multiple science disciplines at an introductory level.
Preferred Qualifications
PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
US state teaching certification (e.g., Standard Teaching Credential in Science)
Experience teaching integrated or general science to Grades 6–7 (ages 11–13)
Familiarity with inquiry-based and hands-on science instruction
