We are looking for an Integration Engineer(s) to join our Advanced Optics Team. Working on Microsoft HoloLens you will be part of an organization which consists of professionals from the fields of optics, mechanical engineering, micro- and nanofabrication and process technology.
In this role you will drive assembly processes development and optimization for Opto-Mechanical components and methods in cooperation with design, suppliers of mechanical and optical components and process equipment vendors. Your background and experience with complex, tight tolerance mechanical assemblies and high-volume production will enable you to engage quickly in your new role. With help of continuous learning you can be successful in long-term and adapt new innovative technologies.

Responsibilities
- Design of new assembly processes for integration of mechanical and optical components.
- Design of high tolerance mounting/housing system to maintain alignment of integrated optical components.
- Research, development and deployment of new equipment and process materials with vendors
- Develop prototypes, analyze the test results, and recommend changing the design/materials as needed (design change, cost reduction, warranty improvements, manufacturing issues etc.)
- Assess reliability of design to meet optical goals and overall cost and performance requirements.
- Develop high volume assembly processes for sub-assembly which enables required alignment tolerances
- Partner with internal and external teams, providing component/sub-assembly specifications for their use. Oversee the manufacturing process for the component/sub-assembly.
Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of design for precision assembly and methods with experience with complex, tight tolerance mechanical assemblies is mandatory qualification requirement.
- Experience in scaling for high volume production, including demonstrated experience in process development, control systems, trouble-shooting and design-of-experiments.
- Ability to work efficiently with other design disciplines as well as manufacturing to create design solutions that address often-conflicting requirements.
- Proficiency with Mechanical design tool, like CREO or other
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal), teamwork, documentation and organizational skills.
- Growth mindset
- Capability and willingness for occasional international travel
- At least 5 years of HW engineering experience, opto-mechanical experience is highly appreciated
- M.Sc. degree with background in Industrial / Mechanical Engineering, or related Engineering field
