Job Description

The digitization of every industry is accelerating the global demand for semiconductors at a torrid pace. Intel Foundry Services (IFS), as one of the strategic pillars of Intel IDM 2.0, is chartered to empower our customers by delivering industry-leading silicon and packaging with differentiated IP portfolio.

You will be the key technical member of a team, participating in the design of future generation high speed IP and test chips, using leading edge process technologies from Intel. This role requires an engineer with a broad array of design skills and experience, an ability to communicate well, and a desire to mentoring a team of junior engineers. You will drive the implementation of high speed IP blocks from synthesis through post-layout verification and tapeout. You will develop the custom constraints for driving synthesis and Auto-Place and Route APR tools to implement and optimize the design to meet aggressive power, performance and area (PPA) goals. You will work closely with internal/external design teams to converge the design to project targets.

The responsibilities will be tailored to the candidate's skills and expertise and will include several of the following, but not be limited to:
- Logic synthesis and place and route for high speed IP blocks
- Perform floor-planning, clock tree synthesis and routing implementation
- Block/sub-system/full-chip level timing analysis
- Work on low power design and power reduction in block/sub-system level
- Physical verification closure of block/sub-system
- Scripts writing for data analysis and build recipe creation
- Strong analytical ability and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently and at various levels of abstraction
- Excellent written and spoken communications skills
- Capable of working in a high performing team to deliver the results required from the organization.


Qualifications

Bachelor of Engineering degree or a Master of Science degree in Electronic, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent with preferably at least 5 years of experience in high speed/performance IP design.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in writing and producing software code using languages such as PERL and TCL.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in using Synthesis, Place and Route physical design tools and flow, with demonstrated experience in fixing timing, low power, IR drop, layout DRC violations.
- Experience in Unix/Linux and shell programming.

IFS is already engaged with customers today, starting with our existing foundry offerings. We are expanding imminently to include our most advanced technologies optimized for cutting-edge performance, making them ideal for high-performance applications.



Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
