1. General job accountability:

o Intellectual Property (IP) development for technology platforms and drug discovery pipelines.

o Manage patent portfolios.

o IP due diligence and IP-related transaction support.

o Patent prosecution and litigation.

o Manage external counsel.

2. Qualification and competency requirements：

A. Education/training background:

• Master degree in Biology, Medicine, Chemistry, Pharmacy, or Pharmaceutical-related field is required.
• Possession of Juris Doctorate (JD) from Law School or equivalent credentials is preferred.
• Possession of Patent Agent Certification is preferred.

B. Experience / Skills:

• Solid knowledge and rich experience in patent law practice of China, US, and European.
• Minimum 2 years of experience prosecuting patent applications and IP counseling with a law firm or in-house within a pharmaceutical company.
• Experience in a wide range of IP matters in areas including patent drafting, freedom to operate, patentability, non-infringement and invalidity opinions, licensing, IP portfolio development.
• Experience of IP matters in transgenic technologies, drug discovery, antibody discovery and related areas is highly preferred.
• Scientific knowledge and experience of drug discovery is plus.
• Experience of competitive intelligence analysis is plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication in English.
• Good learning agility, self-motivated, independent working, and effective collaboration.
