Waikato Institute of Technology (WINTEC) is looking for an experienced Interior Design Teacher to teach for us in Guizhou China, as a part of our joint programme with Guizhou Light Industry Technical College.

This is a fixed term position for 12 weeks (including 10 weeks of teaching and 2 weeks of preparation), from mid-October 2019 to early January 2020 and you will be teaching the following modules for up to 16 hours a week.

• CAD
• Principles of Interior Design (Frameworks)
• Drawing and Presentation Techniques (design and plan presentation)

Accommodation, international travel insurance and round-trip flights all provided. You must be able to obtain a valid work visa to be able to take up this assignment.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Interior or Spatial design
• 2-3 years’ interior design teaching experience at tertiary level
• Recent industry experience in interior design, residential and commercial with a sound knowledge of building terminology, processes and finishes
• Good knowledge of CAD software as used in industry such as ArchiCAD, plus adobe suite of software
• A good understanding of project-based delivery method
• Some previous experience working with young Chinese adult learners with low-level English skills.
