The ASM Business Performance Group currently has an opportunity for interns with educational or professional backgrounds in Data Science/Analytics. The Business Performance group at Amgen Singapore Manufacturing (ASM) is seeking highly motivated candidates with a passion for data analytics and visualization to join our team.

Duration: 24 weeks - Aug/Sep 2019 to Feb/Mar 2020

The successful candidate will apply their expertise to enhance how data is used to inform and make decisions. This may include, but is not limited to, the following:

• Getting voice of customers on business needs and develop data analytics solution to meet the needs
• Developing, enhancing, automating report/dashboard using effective design to extract insights from data
• Performing ad hoc data analysis for executive audiences
• Creating effective presentation/visualizations to enable business application of data analysis

Depending on final project scope, intern will be exposed to some of the following topics: Biologics/API manufacturing, Facilities & Engineering, business strategy, and supply chain.  The intern will receive mentoring and coaching from management, and will have opportunities to learn about Amgen, the biotechnology industry, and develop strong presentation skills.

Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergraduate internship or an undergraduate co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria: 

• 18 years or older
• Completion of 1 year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
• Enrolled in a full time Bachelor’s or Combined Bachelor's/Master's degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university
• Must not be employed at the time the internship starts

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree concentration(s) in Bioengineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Statistics
• Experience with data visualization tools or packages, such as Tableau, Spotfire, or Power BI
• Experience in programming languages such as SQL, Python, or R
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
