Job Overview
The IT Digital Transformation Office (DTO) at Daimler Trucks North America is dedicated to improving the usability and overall experience of IT’s digital products and services. We are committed to fostering an environment that focuses on user-centered design and customer empathy to improve IT-related processes and products. To be successful in our efforts, we must market our capabilities constantly in unique and engaging ways. We must also find new ways to integrate digital assets into our products & services to connect with our users and create new types of experiences.

We are looking for a passionate individual to join the Digital Transformation Office (DTO) to be responsible for creating APIs, working with front-end frameworks, play with IoT stacks, and debug software. This individual will work closely with both the Immersive and prototyping teams as well as be an active contributor to the overall DTO in order to support IT Innovation and development leadership. The will also actively work within the developers guide and contribute to DTNA's developer principles, best practices, and standards.

This individual will also support the DTO with other emerging technologies such as augmented reality, virtual reality, and other devices in the emerging mobility space. We are committed to fostering an environment on user-centered design and customer centered empathy while maturing the development culture at DTNA to improve IT-relate processes and products. Lastly, they should understand and maintain the DTO’s strategy and long-term vision, development guidelines and best practices, while following technology innovations/evolutions as well as Daimler’s business strategies and global initiatives.


Responsibilities

- Work with DTNA Digital transformation office team on emerging technology projects
- Coding and debugging software projects
- Experience with API usage and development
- Work with and help define project coding standards
- Assist in DTNA developer guild projects and presentations
- Work with a team in frontend frameworks such as Vue
- Work with a team in backend software such as Node.js
- Research developer best practices to solve project problems
- Present technical information clearly and succinctly
- Basic troubleshooting of software bugs
- Develop rapid prototype proof of concept solutions for viability studies
- Work within an Agile team and a dynamic, fast-moving, collaborative environment
- Communicate status to all stakeholders
- Stay current with clean code and development trends
