Amgen’s operations internship program offers meaningful real life work experiences that would benefit students by preparing them for industry readiness when they embark on their career.

The internship provides the opportunity for the student to be exposed to the various disciplines involved in Finance, Accounting & Business Strategy. Working at Amgen’s most innovative manufacturing facility, the intern will be trained in the fundamentals of operations finance, accounting & valuation measures used in business strategy.

As part of the Finance team, the intern will be exposed to some of the topics as follows:

• Financial Statement Forecasting
• Valuation techniques/computations
• Productivity measurement & KPI development
• Key elements of operations finance & accounting
• Cross-functional budgetary management
• Leadership & presentational skills required at a Fortune 500 company

Intern will be assigned to support activities as follows:

• Data collection & analysis
• Productivity measurement/KPI development
• Financial statement forecasting
• Cross Functional project management
• Capital investment analysis
• Financial model building used for forecasting financial performance & business valuations

Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergraduate internship or an undergraduate co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria: 

• 18 years or older
• Completion of 1 year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
• Enrolled in a full time Bachelor’s or Combined Bachelor's/Master's degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university
• Must not be employed at the time the internship starts

Preferred Qualifications

Degree concentration(s) in Finance, Accounting, Economics &/or Business Development.  The ideal candidate will possess very strong analytical capability & strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
