Job Overview
The Order Center & Assembly Scheduling department is responsible for customer order management and assembly line scheduling in Detroit. The intern will work on projects to improve processes and conduct daily activities to ensure on-time delivery.
Responsibilities
An Intern for the Order Center and Assembly Scheduling department will be involved in the following projects and daily activities:
Projects to include:
- Old Open Sales Orders - create process and cadence to review old open sales orders with the Product Distribution team.
- Old Open Production Orders - working with the Assembly Scheduling team, lead the weekly tracking of old open production orders for all assembly lines – HDE, MDEG, HDT, HDE EUROV ATS and all Axle lines. This includes facilitating a weekly meeting to review the statistics and deep-dive into issues.
Daily Activities to include:
- Product Distribution follow up for a specific customer location
- Shipping Dock Support
- Assembly Scheduling Support
- Product Distribution queries and reports
- Office Floor Management Board updates
- Exposure to various systems, including DIBS (the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for Engines) and SAP (the ERP system supporting Axles, Transmissions, and After-Treatment System)
Preferred level of school: Sophomore, Junior, Senior
Target Area of Study: Supply Chain, Business, Industrial engineering
- Must be participating in a Bachelor's Program or higher (or have graduated within the past 12 months) required
- GPA of 3.0 or higher required
- An attached resume is required
