Job Overview
 
 
Transportation for DTNA requires being professional in all facets of planning & procuring when interfacing our logistic providers that purchase trucks from DTNA. A comprehensive compliance program is needed, which will require alignment with many teams.


Responsibilities

 
 
- Support Buyers throughout the procurement process including complex analysis, presentation development, negotiations support, supplier screenings etc.

- Oversee the creation and publication of individual profiles of Daimler suppliers/carrier that enable senior management visibility to key indications including annual volume of buy (AVOB)  

- Maintain master data for logistics transportation rates, contracts, and carriers

- Oversee the process of developing and documenting supplier/carrier life cycle initiative 

- Support the tasks and goals that fall under transportation procurement and network management for other Daimler business units, including, but not limited to Daimler Trucks North America, Mercedes Benz Canada, Mercedes Benz USA, Mercedes Benz Mexico, Fuso, Mercedes Benz USI, & DVCM

- Analyze new vehicle transportation networks to identify opportunity for synergies

- Support basic contract management needs

- Update and communicate changes of tracking documents & support of IT system development and implementation

- Support of Office Floor Management Process, including development of procurement processes and procedures

 
 

 
 
 
- Must be a student participating in a Bachelor's Program or higher (or have graduated within the past 12 months) required
- Logistics Law or Legal Comprehension of Business Rules preferred
- GPA of 3.0 or higher required
- An attached resume is required
- Courses completed in field of logistics and/or supply chain management require
- Additional courses completed in business and/or lean management required
- IT engineering or fields of study regarding IT research & development required   
- Experience in Logistics, Project Management, lean management and/ or continuous improvement, Procurement and Supplier Negotiations preferred
- Spanish or German fluency (or Both) preferred
