Purpose (why the position exists):

The position is set to facilitate the cargo execution and handle exceptions among the liner operations with cost and productivity efficiency achieved.

All key responsibilities of a cargo operator:

Supervise execution of standard cargo processes performed at Global Service Centre for assigned vessel calls

o Backup SCEM tasks/maintain learning log

Facilitate and optimize cargo flow

o Check transshipment connection/Clear longstanding

Monitor Cargo operation progress during vessel berth

o Monitor TOMS

Execute cargo contingency plan

o Cut & run/Omission/Phase in & out/Slide & tandem plan/Swap/Act per contingency checklist

Handle cargo related exceptional requests per SOP and authority matrix.

o Rolling/Call back/Load list update (last minute)/COV/COD/hold/Ad-hoc deadline setting/Code register/Mal-functional reefer/DG segregation/Cargo leakage/Early gate in/Late gate in/other exceptions

Verify exceptional handling cost quotation and confirm expense under SOP and authority matrix

Feedback enquiries and share cargo execution relevant information to commercial desks

Coordinate vessel stowage planning and cargo operation on VSA partners vessels

Exercise cost leadership and implement process improvement

Implement cost saving/automation project / Maintain cost saving log as well as PONC log

Implement MLOS standard work and promote public information sharing platform

o Stand-up VMS update/Late gate & COV application maintenance / Maintenance of load list update on portal

Attend dynamic operations duty in case business requires

Act on other tasks assigned by cargo execution manager
