Job Summary As a valuable member of Eaton's Internal Audit (IA) department, the Americas director of Internal Audit plans, organizes, and directs Eaton's $13B Americas region audit function. Through thoughtful leadership, the director will prepare and implement a risk-based integrated audit plan and assess, report on, and make recommendations for improving Eaton's policies, processes and internal control framework. This position will play a critical role in the transformation of Eaton's Internal Audit organization into a contemporary, proactive and teaching organization. This role will partner with regional business leaders and be sought after by leaders as an expert in various aspects of Eaton's risk management and mitigation. This role will be a talent leader and position the department as a developmental destination for top talent that will gain significant experience and exposure that will prepare the team for greater roles inside Eaton. Job Responsibilities This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all aspects of Eaton's $13B Americas region Internal Audit functions including test of controls, and financial and operational audits Implementing the America’s region integrated audit plan based on the risk assessment, ensuring appropriate staffing level, and communicating the results to senior management Coordinates and executes multiple projects and initiatives Is a key member of the Global IA team, leads regional Ethics-related investigations having a financial implication, develops and coordinates the completion of external audit annual assistance plan, and provides coordination with the other internal audit teams Promotes organizational continuous improvement related to financial policies and internal controls by working directly with Senior leaders to develop, drive and implement changes that are aligned and support Eaton's global strategies, objectives, and initiatives Ability to be future focused, insightful and proactive by initiating and/or leading projects to redesign or automate audit processes to eliminate or reduce non-value-added activities and/or enhance audit coverage Provides risk-based assurance and sufficient audit coverage over Company's critical control areas with existing resources Capable of serving as coach/mentor for high potential professionals Qualifications Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent Master of Business Administration (MBA) and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred 10+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance Public accounting and/or industry audit experience and at least 5 years of managerial experience preferred Ability to manage multiple large projects or programs. Ability to understands the integration between projects and coordinate timing. Acts as customer interface for all projects and key stakeholders Ability to lead and motivate audit teams, including assignment of work, monitoring of progress, review of results, performance feedback, coaching, and providing on-the-job development to team members Advanced understanding of internal controls, financial accounting standards and business processes at Eaton or a prior company and can draft or make recommendations on Eaton policies and procedures Soft Skills Ability to work under pressure with multiple competing priorities Adept in both written and verbal communication skills Flexible team player or leader depending on task at hand Culturally aware and able to navigate in different environments or situations Confident and able to influence people over whom you have no formal authority Active listener Eaton considers qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with local laws.
